August, really?  When, HOW did that happen? I’m literally shocked how fast the summer has flown by and with the unusual cool temps, I’ve hardly felt summer was ever here. Yet in a couple of weeks I’ll be packing up and heading back to the city home, school will be starting just around the corner, which means I’ll be gearing up for a lot of football action around my house (both boys are playing!), and a plethora of work activities are set on the calendar.

To top it off we’ll be moving into our condo downtown now that all the remodeling is done. My husband has been a jewel handling all that while I’ve been away, in fact I’ve not even seen the finished product except through some phone photos so I’m anxious to get a view of the real deal. Especially the kitchen! You’ll get a sneak peek at it when I film some cooking videos later in the fall. I’ll also be starting back up my monthly workshops so you’ll want to check my events page for the details and come on down, to downtown.

In the meantime, I wanted to give you a few upcoming events taking place before I leave Fayetteville. I’ll be finishing up my summer cooking series at Ozark Natural Foods with these two classes:

August 5th @ 6pm – Raising Vegan Kids

August 28th @ 6pm – Healthy Heavenly Treats

In addition I recently became the organizer for the Northwest Arkansas Vegan Food Enthusiasts group and our first meet up is scheduled for August 14th at Wilson park. It will be an informal picnic starting at 6pm. Be sure you join the meet up group for all the details and to be included in future events. I’ve got some real fun things planned for fall ya’ll. You can join the meet up group here:http://www.meetup.com/Rogers-Vegan-Food-and-Yoga/events/198012492/.

Another very exciting event starting next week is the Academy of Culinary Nutrition Summer School Summit offered by Meghan Telpner. Meghan will be interviewing awesome experts in the field of culinary nutrition and business every Thursday in August, and you can sign up for free. What? Free? Don’t.miss.this!

Speaking of the fabulous Meghan Telpner, a handful of spaces are still available for the fall Culinary Nutrition Expert (CNE) program! If you are interested in more information or want to register please use this link:http://www.culinarynutrition.com/the-culinary-nutrition-expert-program/#a_aid=ffc3def9.

AND…if you’ve not seen it check out my own profile listed on the Academy for Culinary Nutrition website here:http://www.culinarynutrition.com/expert/katmendenhall/, this could be YOU!

That’s a wrap on August activities for now but be sure you stay connected on my Facebook page or on Twitter for additional opportunities. There’s always something to hear, see or be involved in.
