Well it is almost here, fall! I can start to see it, feel it, and yes even hear it. By far my favorite time of the year for so many reasons. Football, cooler temps (fingers crossed), the Fair (I’m doing a vegan cooking demo pinch me!), football, fall foliage, jackets, football, pumpkins, squash…oh, did I mention football? YES! I am a huge football fan, I admit it. My boys both play football, I rootie toot toot for the Razorbacks (and shame on you if you don’t know that already), and despite my contentions with the owner, the quarterback and such…I.Still.Love.The.Cowboys. Call me crazy or just call me Texan, either way this girl loveees her some football. Amen.

I also really love that although Texas weather does not always feel like fall we do get glimpses and sneak peaks of what is to come and this puts me in the mood for all my favorite fall foods. You will have to wait to see what exactly those are (disclaimer: be ready!) but for now I wanted to share what’s in season so that your fall basket is filled with the right goodness to take home and create your own meals. When you do make sure you share them with me too cause I loveeee me some fall food ya’ll! It’s a toss up.

Early Fall:

Beans & Peas (Fresh Shell & Snap), Cucumber, Eggplant, Melons, Okra (swoon!), Peppers, Squash (Summer Varieties), Tomatoes, Watermelon

Late Fall:

Off to the game!
